FESTIVAL RULES 2010
1. The Laws of the game 2009/10 will apply as laid down in the Rules of the Continuum. 2. Playing times for all matches are: Under 7's and Under 8’s, 5 minutes each way; under 9’s and under 10’s, 6 minutes each way; under 11’s and under 12’s, 7 minutes each way. All matches for all age groups have 1 minute for half time and no extra time (except that added for injury time). 3. There will be two league points allocated for a win and one for a draw. 4. Matches must be brought to an end if the try difference rises to more than six. 5. In the event of a league tie, the final placings will go by 5.1. the highest total number of tries scored; or if identical 5.2. the lowest total number of tries conceded; or if identical 5.3. the toss of a coin between the coaches. 6. In the event of a tie at the knockout stages, no extra time will be played. Whoever scored the first try of the game will go through. If there is no score, the game will be decided by the toss of a coin (except that, in the event of a tie in the final, the trophy may be shared if both coaches agree). 7. In the event of a team failing to turn up for the festival, the organisers reserve the right to re-arrange the leagues to accommodate the reduction in teams entered. 8. In the event of a team dropping out during the festival, all that team's previous results will be declared null and void and the final league results will be reported as if that team had not been present. 9. Team and Squad sizes are as follows :
10. This is a B/C festival and teams are expected to enter into the spirit of the event. Teams should be selected from those who have not / will not play in the county festival. However, where there are insufficient players available in this category, ‘A Squad’ players may be selected to fill any gaps. 11. All managers/coaches must be in possession of a National RFU Registration card for each of their players. We will require team sheets and RFU registration numbers at the start of the event and the Festival Organiser may approach managers at random and ask to see individual cards for children randomly selected. If the manager cannot produce a card for that child then the whole squad may be disqualified and asked to leave the Festival. 12. Replacements and substitutions are permitted throughout the festival. Any player from a squad may replace any other squad member at any time. A 'sent off' player may not be replaced and may not take any further part in the festival. Any player who is in one squad may not play for another squad. 13. If a player is in distress the referee must stop the game immediately it is brought to their attention. The game must also be suspended immediately should any case of serious foul play occur. 14. No conversions at any age group.
Any breach of any of these rules may render the whole squad liable to disqualification and the Festival Organiser’s decision will be final.
